A safe place to grow and ask questions

Youth ministries

St. Stephen's welcomes all young people in grades 6 through 12 to participate in youth activities. Our goal is to provide a safe space for all students to talk about faith experiences, ask questions about religion and life, and do so without fear of judgement.

  • Sunday school and youth group

The Youth Group meets weekly for Sunday School from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. and for Evening Youth from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sundays. During these gatherings the youth spend time reflecting on their daily lives, discussing current events and how it pertains to their lives, sharing our joys and concerns, and discussing/understanding our faith. During evening youth, we also play games and eat dinner together. We share lots of laughs during this time of fellowship.

  • Mission experiences

Each summer, the youth travel to various destinations to participate in mission work. We have worked in inner-city missions, volunteered at food banks, and served non-profit service organizations. We’ve done home repair and construction work, gone to Native American reservations, and so much more. This is something that our youth look forward to each year as a great opportunity to do something that will impact the world around them both inside and outside of our own community.

  • spring break

We also go on a Spring Retreat to one of the Oklahoma United Methodist Campgrounds. This is a three-day, two-night weekend that allows the students to get away from home for a few days and fellowship with each other. The weekend is spent with team building exercises, spiritual practices, games, and a service project.

  • fundraisers

Each Easter Sunday, the youth host a breakfast to help raise money for the upcoming summer mission trip. The youth also host a Fall Carnival & Chili Cook-Off for the children and families to raise money for special youth events.
