first american Tradition

This week we have honored Indigenous People's Day. It is a good thing to teach our children that our history did not start with European monarchs sending people to find lands where others already lived.

So in the spirit of Indigenous People who were of our land first, here is a prayer in the First American tradition:

O Great spirits of Ancestors
I raise my pipe to you;
To you messengers in the four winds,
and to Mother Earth
who provides your children,
Give us the wisdom to teach our children to love,
To respect and to be kind to one another
So that we may grow with peace in mind.
Let us learn to share all good things
That you provide us on this Earth.

                Wanish, (Thank you)  Blue Turtle

Peace be with you.
